Air Ecology
Under a heading that pairs energy awareness with a fresh air guarantee, the property states that all of its ventilation units carry carbon dioxide sensors and supply fresh air continuously. It does not say which spaces, guest rooms included, are mechanically ventilated, and no system, filter grade, fresh air rate or reading is published.

The seminar page states that all seminar rooms have air conditioning ventilation with carbon dioxide measurement and fresh air. This covers the seminar rooms only, not guest rooms, and no system, rate or reading is published.

The FAQ states that two Wald-Wiesen rooms are fitted for allergy sufferers with pollen filter nets. No product, mesh grade or supplier is named, and the provision covers two of 116 rooms.
In their words: “2 Wald-Wiesen-Zimmer sind als speziell ausgestattete Allergiker-Zimmer mit Allergiker-Bettwäsche, sowie Pollenfilternetzen mit Parkettboden ausgestattet.”
The FAQ states that smoking is prohibited inside the hotel and that smoking areas are directly outside the restaurant entrance.

Water Integrity
The FAQ states that every tap supplies mountain spring water from the Masenberg, that it is safe to drink, and that it is checked regularly as the law requires. No laboratory, test panel, result or treatment step is published, and the regular checks are stated as a frequency without a result.
In their words: “Aus all unseren Wasserhähnen fließt ausgezeichnetes Bergquellwasser vom Masenberg, das Sie bedenkenlos trinken können und regelmäßig gesetzlich überprüft wird.”
The property states that it serves its own sparkling Retter-Quell water from the Masenberg in place of mineral water transported from further away. No bottling, carbonation or treatment process is published.

The orchard pool (Obstgartenpool) is published as filled with fresh mountain spring water; the pool page does not name the spring, and the FAQ names the Masenberg as the source of the property's tap water. The fill source is the only water detail given for this pool, and no sanitation method or chemical is published.

The 2026 sustainability fact sheet states that reducing pool chemical quantities to 10 per cent was a priority in the 2023 pool build, in a section otherwise about heat recovery and insulation. No chemical, sanitation method, baseline, basin or measured residual is published.

Light Rhythm
Two room categories, the Wald-Wiesenzimmer and the Weitblickzimmer, are listed with an enclosed bathroom with daylight. No window, glazing, shading or blackout specification is published for any room.

EMF Harmony
The room page lists extra long beds with a mains power disconnection switch (Netzstromfreischaltung) under the equipment present in all rooms. No switch product, circuit layout or field reading is published, and the FAQ states that wireless internet is available throughout the building.

The guest A to Z describes the bedside switch as cutting the mains so that no live power lines run around the sleeper's head at night. It does not say whether the switch affects wireless access points, and no reading is published.
In their words: “Netzfreischaltung: Netz aus – der Schalter bei Ihrem Bett, garantiert, dass es rund um Ihren Kopf keine aktiven Stromleitungen in der Nacht gibt.”
The guest A to Z states that the desk in each room has a patch cable for a fixed, wired internet connection. The same page and the FAQ state that wireless access is available throughout the hotel, rooms included, so the wired connection is published as an option alongside wireless rather than in place of it. No cable category, shielding or access point placement is published.

The BIO HOTELS association's directory, a third party page, lists the hotel with the feature label Electrosmog Reduced hotel. The listing states no criteria, measurement or verification behind the label, and the same listing shows free wireless.

Materials and Textiles
The spa names three cosmetics brands used in its treatments, SANDICCA, DR JOSEPH and MARIAS, and elsewhere on the page describes SANDICCA as an organic certified line. This covers spa treatment products; the property's own pages name no in-room toiletry brand.

The guest A to Z lists spelt and herb pillows (Dinkel-Kräuter-Kissen) scented with herbs from Pöllauberg. The pillow is named by its plant contents; no cover fabric, herb species, supplier, certification or availability per room is published.

Food and Kitchen
The autumn 2026 menu names its producers by distance band, including Mauerhofer Mühle for organic flours, Ölmühle Fandler for organic oils and Familie Grasser for organic lamb within 5 km. No share of supply is published, and the menu marks some producers and items as currently available only in conventional quality.

Seed oil is served: the autumn 2026 menu's dressing list includes an organic pumpkin seed oil and vinegar marinade alongside a balsamic olive oil dressing, and the same menu names Familie Weber as a supplier of organic pumpkin seed oil and Ölmühle Fandler for organic oils. No frying or cooking oil is named for the fried dishes on the menu, such as Backhendl, Wiener Schnitzel and Pommes frites.

The fact sheet states that the kitchen's offer has been certified organic for more than 20 years and that the orchards around the hotel have been farmed organically for more than 30 years. The FAQ names Austria Bio Garantie among the property's certifications; no certificate number, validity date or certified scope is published.

The menu states that the property's own Retter BioGut, beside the hotel, produces 18 kinds of organic bread, pasta, jams, herbal teas, fruit juices, spirits, all of the organic ice cream and herbs. No share of the kitchen's total supply is published.

Biophilic and Healing Design
The property publishes that its 5,000 m² garden was assessed by Natur im Garten Steiermark against that scheme's criteria for hotel gardens, which the page states centre on giving up pesticides, peat and chemical fertilisers. No planting list, assessment date or report is published, and the assessment covers the garden, not the building.
