The far end of the island
Six Senses Ibiza sits on Xarraca Bay at the northern tip of the island, 137 keys spread over twenty acres of rock, pine and cove. Cave suites are cut into the cliff, residences and mansions run along the water, and the spa opens straight onto the gardens that grow its botanicals. The food comes from Can Tanca, the resort's own organic farm inland at Santa Gertrudis, which delivers daily and doubles as a learning centre. Naming the farm is the difference between a sourcing claim and a sourcing fact, and it is the strongest line on this record.

A documented bed
Most hotels describe a bed with adjectives. Six Senses publishes a specification. The mattress is handmade from organic lamb's wool over coir from a certified organic coconut plantation, with a latex layer from a certified organic rubber plantation, under a quilted cotton cover. Sheets are organic cotton. Guests who sleep hot are offered linen made from eucalyptus fibre. That matters because a mattress is the single largest object a guest spends eight hours in contact with, and its filling and flame treatment are usually the least documented thing in the room. Here the fibres are named and their certification is named. What is still missing is a test result: no emissions class, no formaldehyde figure.
The island question nobody answered
The resort funds water education in nine Ibizan schools and publishes the teaching hours. It publishes nothing about its own water. No source, no treatment train, no analysis, on an island whose fresh water is genuinely scarce. Air, electromagnetic load and acoustics are equally silent, and there is a live music venue on the beach. The resort also states it is the first BREEAM certified resort in the Balearics and holds two ISO certifications. None of the three appears in the certifying body's own register, so none is recorded here. On a property this precise about a mattress, those are gaps of publication rather than of practice.

What is not publishedthe gaps we looked for and did not find
The bed here is documented better than the building. Nothing is published on ventilation, filtration or any air reading, so Air Ecology is empty. Nothing is published on the source, treatment train or analysis of the water a guest drinks, bathes in or swims in, so Water Integrity is empty, which is a notable omission on an island whose own water education programme the resort funds. Nothing is published on network topology, access point placement or field levels, so EMF Harmony is empty. Nothing is published on background noise, separation between keys or plant noise, so Sound and Sensory Ecology is empty, and the resort runs a live music venue on the waterfront. On light, the only published provision is complimentary access to the Timeshifter jet lag app and an unspecified offer to change the lighting on the sleep programme, with no colour temperature, lux level or blackout specification anywhere. The resort states it is the first BREEAM certified resort in the Balearics and that it holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. None of the three could be confirmed in the certifying body's own register, so none is recorded here as a held standard. One spa treatment description asserts that a 528 Hz frequency is proven to assist DNA repair. That is not scored and should not be repeated.

Not published is not unsafehow to read these scores, and what this index does not promise
A low score means a property has not published information. It does not mean the property is unsafe, unhealthy or poorly run.
These scores measure disclosure. These scores describe disclosure, not property quality. This index has no commercial relationship with the properties listed unless a badge on the listing says otherwise.
Conditions change, and we will not always know. Every record is a snapshot of what a property had published when we read it, and that date is on the page. Conditions change: a property can refit, change suppliers or replace a system at any time, and nothing requires it to tell us. We re-read records and ask properties directly for updates, but there will always be a gap between what is true today and what was published when we looked. Use this as a frame of reference for what to ask, not as a substitute for asking. Take your own questions to the property before you book, and tell us if you find something we have wrong.
We report what properties publish. We do not inspect, certify or vouch for any property on this index unless a listing says we assessed it on site, and we accept no responsibility for decisions made or outcomes experienced on the basis of what you read here.
