The property’s own website
The property's own site: its name and its place are on the page
Safely managed drinking water, Italy, 2024: The World Health Organization reports 97 per cent of the population nationally using a safely managed drinking water service. This describes the country, not this property, and says nothing about what reaches a guest room here. It is recorded because it is the background against which a property's own treatment is worth publishing.
Regional data is context about the location. It does not establish conditions inside a room.
Ambient PM2.5 and PM10 near Palmschoss, Brixen, Dolomites, South Tyrol, Italy, 30 days to 2026-08-17: Modelled ambient air over this location averaged 6.0 micrograms per cubic metre of PM2.5 and 8.6 of PM10 across the 720 hours to 2026-08-17, peaking at 13.5 PM2.5. The World Health Organization annual guideline for PM2.5 is 5. This is the outdoor air over the area, modelled rather than measured on site, and it is not a reading of the air inside any room.
Regional data is context about the location. It does not establish conditions inside a room.
Evidence by area
All eight areas, in the order this index reads them. Every line was read and placed by a person.
Air Ecology
Not published. We looked and found nothing on this, which is a gap in what we could read, not a finding about the building.
Water Integrity
The property publishes two figures for the spring water it serves, a dry residue of 22 mg per litre and a pH value of 6.6. No laboratory, institute, analyst, instrument, method or sampling date is named alongside them on the English page, on the German original or anywhere in the 2026 press kit, and the same two values are the published label figures for Plose spring water, which the property states its own water is identical to.
In their words: “With a dry residue of only 22 mg per litre and a pH-value of 6.6, which corresponds to that of human cells, it is among the purest and lightest waters in the world.”
Design press publishes the same pH value of 6.6 for the spring that lies about 50 metres above the building and states that it feeds the hotel's own fountains and conduits.
In their words: “The holistic approach at the Forestis includes healthy, high-quality food made with products from the region: starting with the clear spring water from the Plose, the source of which lies only around 50 meters above the hotel, and which flows down into the hotel's own fountains and conduits. With a pH value of 6.6, it is one of the lightest and purest waters in the world.”

The property's press kit states that its own spring water is what runs through the plumbing and reaches taps and shower heads, and that it is the water drunk at the property.
In their words: “The Plose is not only home to one of the best and purest spring waters, which is drunk in the FORESTIS and gushes from all taps and shower heads, the Plose is also one of the most beautiful skiing and hiking areas in the Dolomites.”
The property publishes the source type and its location, an artesian spring about 50 metres above the building, and states that drinking water is served in stone carafes in the suites and from spring water wells around the site.
In their words: “Around 50 metres above FORESTIS, the clear water of the Plose mountain emerges from an artesian spring.”
The press kit states that bathing and shower water is the hotel's own spring water and gives indoor and outdoor pool dimensions of 20 by 4.3 metres and 22 by 5 metres. No pool sanitation method or water chemistry is published.
In their words: “Guests bathe or shower with the hotel's own spring water, the water quality of which is identical to that of the Plose spring water.”
Light Rhythm
The property names Viabizzuno of Bologna as the company that developed the lighting concept. No colour temperature, tunability, flicker performance or blackout specification is published.
In their words: “Viabizzuno developed the lighting concept for FORESTIS.”
The property publishes floor to ceiling glazing as one of its four material elements. No glazing product, transmittance figure or shading specification is published.
In their words: “Glass emphasises the clarity of the air and brings nature into the building through floor-to-ceiling windows.”
EMF Harmony
Not published. We looked and found nothing on this, which is a gap in what we could read, not a finding about the building.
Materials and Textiles
The property names the species used for walls and ceilings in the Tower and Penthouse suites, spruce.
In their words: “The walls and ceilings in the Tower and Penthouse suites are made of spruce.”
The property publishes that the spruce is used untreated, with no coating stated. No paint, adhesive, sealant or emission class is named.
In their words: “The spruce wood is untreated and left in its natural state.”
The property publishes the composition and application method of its wall and floor surfaces, local dolomite ground to flour and mixed with water and clay, applied with a spatula and sealed with beeswax.
In their words: “Mixed with water and clay, a soft and compact mass is created, which is applied wet with a spatula and then sealed with beeswax.”
For the villa, the property names three species used for beams, floors and furniture, larch, Swiss stone pine and spruce, and describes these woods as untreated.
In their words: “Depending on availability, different types of wood such as larch, Swiss stone pine or spruce were used to make the hand-hewn beams, manually crafted floors and furniture.”
Design press names the interior species as untreated larch, spruce and mountain pine, alongside dolomite stone.
In their words: “Interiors carry the natural scent of untreated larch, spruce, and mountain pine; dolomite stone adds both texture and thermal stability.”

Food and Kitchen
The press kit states that vegetables are grown for the property by neighbouring farmers using old varieties. The growers are not named and no share of supply is published.
In their words: “The produce comes from farmers in the neighbourhood who plant old vegetable varieties exclusively for the FORESTIS.”
The press kit states that the property has planted its own garden of herbs, roots and edible flowers. No area, yield or share of kitchen supply is published.
In their words: “The company has also planted its own garden with herbs, roots and edible flowers.”
The press kit lists the categories bought in from regional and Italian suppliers, including oils and dairy. No supplier is named for the produce, meat, fish, oils or dairy, and no cooking oil or cookware policy is published.
In their words: “Fruit, citrus fruits, fish, meat, sausage and ham, oils and dairy products are also sourced from selected farmers and suppliers from the surrounding area and throughout Italy.”
The press kit names the neighbouring Mairhof farm as the supplier of the honey served. It is one named supplier against a sourcing list that is otherwise unnamed, so it specifies a part of the kitchen rather than its bulk.
In their words: “The honey is supplied by the neighbouring Mairhof farm.”
Biophilic and Healing Design
The spa concept is published as built around four named tree species, mountain pine, spruce, larch and stone pine.
In their words: “Following the example of the Celts and their natural doctrine, the FORESTIS Spa combines these four elements of nature with four trees: mountain pine, spruce, larch and stone pine.”
The property names its architect, Armin Sader, and publishes the design intent of using regional materials throughout the building.
In their words: “The South Tyrolean architect Armin Sader and the FORESTIS interior team have reinterpreted the traditional architecture and created a natural atmosphere throughout the hideaway by using regional materials.”
The property publishes the siting method for the towers, a vertical form chosen to occupy as little forest as possible, with two trees planted for each tree felled.
In their words: “The vertical tower design takes up as little space as possible in the forest, and every tree that was felled was replaced by two new plantings.”
Design press reports that every suite has floor to ceiling windows onto the mountains and a balcony. No room volume, ceiling height or planting palette is published.
In their words: “Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the mountains, and broad balconies act as viewing platforms.”
Read it: Forestis and the architecture of reduction in the Dolomites Archived copy
The property publishes its material intent, that the water, air, sun and climate of the site are carried into the materials of the building.
In their words: “Stone, from which the spring emerges, glass, as clear as the air, warm materials that warm like the sun, and the wood that grows best in this climate.”
Sound and Sensory Ecology
The spa page states that the treatment area is acoustically designed. No measured background level, separation rating, plant noise figure or acoustic consultant is published.
In their words: “The acoustic design of this area keeps out every distraction.”
The property publishes silence rooms in the spa as a designated quiet area, with no acoustic specification attached.
In their words: “The Silence Rooms allow the experience of absolute peace and put the body into a deep state of relaxation.”
Disclosures
Compare what each stay offers, how it was checked and what still needs confirming. Assessment labels describe the review, not an overall quality rating.
A low score means a property has not published information. It does not mean the property is unsafe, unhealthy or poorly run.
A score describes proof: what a stay publishes and, on a Human Garage certified stay, what our assessor checked in person. It is not a quality rating of the property. Listings are free, and any commercial relationship is disclosed.
