Ask a resort where the tap water goes and you usually get a paragraph about wellbeing. Gdas Bali answers the question.

Its own policy page says the tap water is not for drinking, and that bottled water is provided for drinking and for brushing teeth. That is candour, and the record treats it as candour. It is also why the water row sits at Claimed with the criterion marked not met. There is no treatment train published for the building, no panel, no filter at a tap.

What was built here

Twenty-seven rooms and villas in Mas, the wood-carving village five minutes from Ubud, set into rice paddies with the volcanoes on the skyline. It opened in November 2022 and joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World a few months later. The whole property runs vegan, alcohol free and smoke free. The rooms are carved by craftsmen from the village the resort stands in: hand-carved wood finishing, wood panelling, grey stone floors, a green marble vanity, a black stone bathtub.

What the director said on camera

On the kitchen garden, at 04:32:

we have our own garden. So we grow a lot of vegetables, spices, herbs. And then we also work with the local community here where right now we're in the process of working on building a small avocado tree farm.

On materials, at 04:21:

So, you know, we try not to use any plastic. We try to encourage guests to maybe use the towel twice versus changing them out every day.

What the visit found

Jordan Lineham visited for Human Garage on 30 October 2025. Seen on site: the setting between rice fields on one side and jungle on the other. The wellness facilities were described on film and sit under facilities, touching no pathway score.

Air, water, light, the wireless environment and sound did not come up on film. In-room aromatherapy and fragrant wood panelling are recorded against the sleeping space rather than for it, because a guest who reacts to scent should ask before booking. The scope of the visit is not on file.
